Hello and happy Bank Holiday Monday! I hope everyone has had a lovely four-day weekend filled with lots of chocolate. I for one am feeling slightly sick after devouring my Lindt bunny in one sitting, but I suppose you can’t do Easter half-hearted right? My long weekend has consisted of seeing friends and family, reading and of course eating.
I thought I would do something a bit more relaxed on my blog today and write a chatty, update style post about what I’ve been up to over the last few weeks. I think it’s refreshing to not have a particular focus on a certain topic or theme from time to time, so that’s what I’m doing in this post. So, on the off chance that you’re interested even slightly in my life, read on…
Social media and I have a love-hate relationship. In fact, I would definitely place us under the ‘it’s complicated’ category on Facebook. If you didn’t know, my full-time job heavily revolves around social media so a lot of my time is spent online, posting on and monitoring Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and various other platforms. I then finish work at 5pm and spend chunks of my evenings scrolling social media, both in a personal capacity and for my blog.
It’s pretty common to feel demotivated and disheartened when you scroll through social media. As someone who’s a very small fish in a very large ocean full of bloggers and ‘influencers’, I’ve found it all too easy to fall into the trap of comparing myself to those around me which is definitely not healthy. However, recently I’ve been scrolling through my social media feeds with a whole different mindset – banishing those negative thoughts and instead replacing them with inspiration and ideas. I thought in this blog post I would share where I’ve been getting some inspiration from whether that’s inspo for photography, an outfit or even motivation to simply try and sort my life out.
It’s almost been a year since I started my blog (1st January will mark its first birthday to be precise) and I don’t think I ever anticipated how much I’d enjoy doing it. Juggling a full time job and a blog is definitely a difficult and stressful task – one that I often fall short of, but I love it nonetheless.
