We’ve been very lucky in the UK this bank holiday weekend, the sun has been shining for the past four days and temperatures have been north of 20 degrees Celsius which has been a dream. I decided to take the days off, for the most part anyway, to spend as much time as possible soaking up some good old Vitamin D whilst we still have this weather.
Good Friday well and truly lived up to its name. My boyfriend and I spent the majority of the day sitting in the garden relaxing before walking to the local corner shop for the first Crunchie Iceblast of the season. My boyfriend, until recently had never seen any of the Harry Potter films so the past week I have been rectifying the situation, and we ended the day with Harry Potter and the Order Of The Phoenix.
Saturday was also not short of sunshine. We picked up Chase for the weekend and took him for a big walk down the waterfront where we stopped for a drink at a beer garden. I had my first Old Mout Cider of the year – hands down the best brand of cider there is! From there we headed back to our local pub for another drink in the sun, this time a pink gin and lemonade. Again, the day was ended with a Harry Potter film and Britain’s Got Talent.
Easter Sunday was obviously filled with chocolate. The sun was still shining so we took Chase to the beach where we met my mum, her boyfriend and my sister. The beach was absolutely packed and it honestly felt like we were on holiday and not just a 20 minute drive from our flat! After we were all tired out, we drove back into the city before heading out for some food and drinks in the Baltic Triangle. We then took Chase for another walk around by our flat before settling down with a cup of tea to watch, you guessed it, yet another Harry Potter film! A 10/10 day.
Today is Easter Monday and I’m writing this with a cup of tea in hand whilst Ben watches the Aston Villa match. I’ve spent the morning doing a bit of light work, and of course taken Chase for a walk who is now asleep on my foot. The rest of the days plans are to head out to the park to soak up some more rays before I get back to work properly tomorrow. Of course, this evening will be spent catching up on the latest episode of Game of Thrones, and most likely, watching the last Harry Potter film! I’ve had such a lovely bank holiday weekend and I’m so happy that I’ve managed to keep work to a minimum and enjoy the sunshine. I’d love to know how you’ve spent the weekend!
