Dressing For The Cold (Still)

After quite possibly the longest January ever, I, along with many others I’m sure, am very much looking forward to Spring and Summer. Unfortunately though, the weather is still very much rooted in the depths of winter and we won’t be leaving the house without thermals on for a while. Although I’m longing for denim shorts and cute summer dresses, I’m going to make the most of my winter wardrobe while I still can.

I picked up this shirt from Mango recently as a little transitional piece, that is perfect for layering now but will take me seamlessly into the warmer months, when they eventually  arrive. I’m envisioning it with a pair of denim shorts and sandals, or even over a bikini on the beach. For now however, I’ll be pairing it with a black turtleneck underneath for that extra bit of warmth. Another new piece in my wardrobe is this croc half-moon bag from ASOS. I’ve been looking for another black crossbody bag for a while now that is relatively spacious, and this one is perfect. You can also unclip the strap and use it as a clutch if you so wish, although I doubt I’ll be doing that as I very much like to be hands free.

An old piece that has been keeping me nice and snug this winter is my faux fur coat. It’s from when Alexa Chung paired up with Marks and Spencer to create her own range a few years back, but it’s still going strong. Faux fur coats will always be a timeless piece in any wardrobe, so I can’t see this one going anywhere anytime soon.

Although summer is a long way off, I have been injecting a little bit of sunshine into my outfits through these seaside themed hair clips. I have been loving the whole hair accessories trend recently, and I don’t doubt that I’ll be adding a few more pieces to my collection!
