Hello and happy Bank Holiday Monday! I hope everyone has had a lovely four-day weekend filled with lots of chocolate. I for one am feeling slightly sick after devouring my Lindt bunny in one sitting, but I suppose you can’t do Easter half-hearted right? My long weekend has consisted of seeing friends and family, reading and of course eating.
I headed back to my hometown of Chester on Friday to see some school friends who were home for a few days which was lovely. I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone and take some photos for my blog whilst I was there, as even though I grew up in Chester and visit it semi-regularly, I’ve never actually shot in the city centre. Dan and I headed to Grosvenor Park for this outfit, which is somewhere I spent so much time in growing up, we both did actually. It’s so nice revisiting places from your childhood with fresh eyes. If you’ve ever visited Grosvenor Park you might have seen the little train that loops around the pond – something that I regularly rode as a child. It was so strange seeing it again as an adult as in my head it was this huge train track that took you around the whole park, across bodies of water and through wooded areas when in reality it’s really quite small. I couldn’t believe how different it was to how I remembered! It’s funny how you see things so differently as a child.
Saturday was spent doing absolutely nothing, which I think was very much needed. It’s nice sometimes to take a day for yourself to rejuvenate. I’ve recently rediscovered the joy of reading (again) so I have been enjoying curling up with a good book this weekend. I finished ‘The Lying Game’ by Ruth Ware a few days ago which I really liked, and I have since started ‘Behind Her Eyes’ by Sarah Pinborough and I am already hooked. I’ve heard the ending is meant to be a shocker so I’m really looking forward to seeing how everything turns out. Got to love a good mystery novel.
I headed back to Chester yet again on Sunday for a lovely roast dinner courtesy of my mum. It was nice to see some of my family this weekend, and of course my cat – whose love I bribed with chicken. Anyone else do this with their cat? My boyfriend and I finally got around to watching ‘Three Billboard Outside Ebbing, Missouri’ last night and we both loved it. We need to work our way through the Oscar nominations as I think the only other one I have seen so far is ‘Get Out’ which we also thought was great. I highly recommend giving both of them a watch if you haven’t done so already.
So that brings us up to today which has been spent doing boring adult things like the big shop and tidying before we go back to work again tomorrow. I’m looking forward to getting back into my book this afternoon and possibly watching an episode of ‘Gossip Girl’ which I have somehow found myself watching again.
Thanks for reading my little bank holiday weekend recap, I’d love to know what you got up to over the last four days!
