Reflecting on January

Happy Friday! I’m currently planted on the sofa waiting for my Deliveroo – chips with a side of prosecco (who knew my local chippy did prosecco?!). Since it’s finally February I thought I would look back on some of my New Year’s resolutions and see if I’ve managed to stick to them, whilst sharing some things that I’ve been loving over the past few weeks, so grab a glass of wine/prosecco/beverage of your choice!

If you read my post about my goals for 2018, you’ll know that I wanted to go veggie and I’m very pleased to say that I have stuck to this! Whilst I have had no meat since 31st December, I will admit I have had a few slip ups in other areas. I did have meat gravy on a Sunday Roast (the restaurant didn’t have veggie gravy and I wasn’t about to have a dry roast) and I didn’t realise that parmesan cheese wasn’t suitable for vegetarians??? This broke my heart. I also bought a packet of Chicken flavoured crisps as I momentarily forgot that I’m not meant to eat them.

Whilst I’ve done well keeping to my vegetarian diet, I haven’t been as successful with another one of my resolutions… Despite good intentions I’ve not set foot in a gym yet this year. I think this has something to do with January Blues – anyone else felt exhausted recently? I’ve just not had the energy or motivation to do any form of strenuous exercise.  This is definitely one for this month, I promise.

Now onto some things that I’ve been loving…

Oh. My. God. Why haven’t I watched this sooner? My boyfriend and I started watching this last week and I can’t even begin to tell you how obsessed I am with it. We’re currently on season three and every spare minute we get is spent watching it. I’m currently waiting impatiently for my boyfriend to get back from the pub so we can watch the next one. Anyone else fancy Jesse?? I’d cook meth with him any day. (Joking, of course….. Or am I?)

This is what the future looks like. My dad bought my boyfriend an Alexa for Christmas and it is a serious game changer. You can literally get it to do things for you without leaving your seat – was this made for me or what?? We’ve spent a lot of time playing games with it too (yes sire is my favourite so far although I’m not that good at it). I’m currently listening to music on it right now which is great because I can change the song with very minimal effort – GREAT SUCCESS!

I thought I’d throw a beauty favourite in here, and that comes in the form of my Naked Heat palette and what a dream of a palette it is. I’ve not used anything else on my eyes since I got it at Christmas and I can’t see that changing for a while.

If you know me at all, you know that I have a very large dog shaped hole in my heart. You will be pleased to learn that I have found a way to fill a part of this hole. My boyfriend’s colleague has a German Shepherd called Toby that we have been walking occasionally and I have to say that it has become one of my favourite things to do. He’s only nine months old so is still very playful and curious about EVERYTHING – especially other dogs! Head on over to my Instagram if you want to see some piccies!

That’s all for now – I’m going to enjoy my deliveroo and not think about my upcoming gym visit…
