Investment Pieces

I’ve got to admit, I was never one of those people who invested in classic pieces. I’ve been a student for the majority of my life so far so it’s only been in the last year or so that I’ve been able to do so. To be clear, I by no means have the money to spend hundreds of pounds on a piece of clothing, but with a bit of budgeting I can occasionally fork out that little bit more on pieces that I know will stand the test of time.

Now that winter is well and truly upon us, I decided it was time to bite the bullet and invest in some quality knitwear, specifically cashmere. I’ve had my eye on the cashmere polo necks in Marks and Spencer for some time now – if you’re a regular reader of my blog you may have noticed that I love a good polo neck jumper. I have a fair few in my wardrobe and they’re something that I always tend to reach for. With that in mind, I thought it was about time that I treat myself to a really good quality one (or two). I picked up this grey number and the exact same in navy from M&S over the weekend and I’ve already managed to wear both. I’m not usually one to feel comfortable parting with a chunk of money (it is a chunk to me at least!) but I just know that I’m going to get my wear out of them and if taken care of, they will last forever. They’re also incredibly soft!

In terms of other investments, I really need to get myself a new pair of black boots and a winter coat. I’ve got my eye on a few at the moment so I just need to take the plunge and buy them and then let my bank balance recover for Christmas! Maybe a little festive present to myself?

Have you made any investment purchases recently, or are you planning on making some? I’d love to know!
