There’s no doubt about it – these trousers are manrepelling. In fact, to quote my boyfriend, they’re “horrible”. I’ll admit, a few months ago wearing cords would have been completely out of the question – but here I am, sporting a pink pair nonetheless. When you hear the word ‘cords’ the chances are your mind automatically goes to your Grandad – at least mine tends to. It’s typically the clothing of choice for ‘older’ generation, but thanks to the 70s trend cords are pretty much everywhere at the moment. Here I am, jumping on the bandwagon!
After spotting pink cords being absolutely ROCKED by a number of my favourite bloggers recently including Lucy Williams, Liv Purvis and Megan Ellaby I decided it was time to invest in a pair. Invest is probably the wrong word as these Monki ones were incredibly affordable at a friendly £30 – total bargain. I have to say, they fit like a bloody dreeaam – if only I could put into words just how comfy they are. Now I know why so many old people wear them! We have all been missing a trick and I vow to take more leaves out of their collective book from here on out.
As well as cords being everywhere at the moment, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll probably have noticed that this dusty pink shade has also been making the rounds. In fact, only today I found a fence in this EXACT colour. It was so exact that I couldn’t even use the pictures I took with it as you can barely tell where I begin and fence ends. Someone obviously has a very strong fence game.
This top is also a recent purchase of mine. As you may already know, I love a good polo neck – unfortunately, the polo neck does not love me. My head is a little (a lot) on the round side and a polo neck tends to make my head look a bit like the moon. It’s yet to deter me from wearing them though. I thought this turtle neck top from Warehouse was a good compromise as it’s still high yet you can definitely see some neck. The flared sleeves also give it major brownie points in my books too.
So there we have it, some of my latest purchases. I promise that sooner or later some different shoes will appear on my blog, I just need to find someone to surgically remove these Zara boots from my feet. I actually have my eye on these Topshop ones which you may have already seen on my Instagram story (I’m starting to share 5 pieces I’m lusting after every week so please do give me a follow if that’s something you’re interested in!).
Until next time…
