Today ladies and gentlemen, you are looking at a brand new driver! Yep, after four years of on and off driving lessons, I’ve finally got my license. After failing once, a test being cancelled because of storm Dorris, and turning up to the rescheduled said test a month early (I know), it’s safe to say I am more than happy to see the back of the test centre. It doesn’t really change my life in any way at the moment because unfortunately I don’t have a car or any plans/ funds to get one any time soon. Nevertheless it’s a worthy cause for a glass of prosecco or two (a bottle) come my weekly ‘Fun Friday’ with the bf and the bff. If you read my very first post of 2017 (you can read it here if not) you may remember me saying that a main goal of this year was to get my driving license. Now that I’ve got that one ticked off the list, I thought it would be a good time to reflect on a couple of goals I set myself in January, most notably, fitness.
Oh fitness. My worst enemy. Who knew it could be so hard? Exercise and well-being is pretty much at the top of my list at the moment, as well as finding a job I love. The gym-going took off to a relatively smooth start, as I’m sure it does for many, at the start of the year. However, come the end of January I somehow stopped going and I continued to not go for a good two months. My boyfriend and I have slowly but surely gotten back into the habit of exercising in an effort to finally get rid of our extra chub that has been expanding since December, and to just get a bit more fit in general. Our extra podge has kicked started our healthy eating and sugar cut backs and let me tell you, it’s SO HARD. The strength it takes to try and avoid the chocolate aisle in Tesco is just exhausting, and I’m currently trying to resist the bag of Terry’s chocolate orange bites that I know is in my fridge. I’ve also had to drastically reduce the number of cups of tea I have because I have to put 2 sugars (*cough* 3 *cough*) in it. I have a sweet tooth what can I say. So my next goal is to cut back on the amount of chocolate and cheese I eat, and reign in it to an amount that a normal person consumes. Sigh.
Anyhoo, I digress onto the actual outfit. You may remember from this post that I recently rekindled my love for TK Maxx, and mentioned that I’d bought a polka dot top from there. Well folks, here it is. I absolutely love it, especially the wrap detail which I always think is really flattering. I wore this to a Billy Fury show last week and my boyfriend also wore his black and white polka dot shirt so we were matchy-matchy, which I appreciate may be vomit inducing for a lot of people. My jeans were actually a little sale gem from Miss Selfridge, and they’re just what I’ve been after recently. They’re a ‘Mom’ style fit according to the label, but they have quite a close fit which is nice if you’re just stepping out of your skinny jean comfort zone. I’m wearing boots less and less now the sun is making a few more appearances, and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to whip out my ASOS backless loafers which have been gathering dust for the last few months. Right, I must be going as I need to get my pjs on before tonight’s episode of Mutiny!
